German Ww2 M40 Lw Camo Combat Helmet

Interesting M40 LW camouflage helmet that was supposedly a send back from the Italian campaign. This one might have saved its owner by absorbing the concussion of a blast which cracked he crown of the helmet significantly. No evidence that the owner left and injury related reside (brains, blood , etc) inside on the shell or the leather liner, so he either survived or wasn't wearing it when it was blasted.

Nice original camo pattern with rivets tight to the shell since prior to the camo. Leather in the liner is complete but dry and the stitching has come undone so this likely was not one of those battlefield relics or the leather would not have survived as well as it has.
