Original WW2 German Helmet M42 qvl 66

This is an Original late-war WW2 German M42 Helmet. The'qvl' manufacturers code is extremely rare and which little is known about. This is also one of the larger size shells which were available, size 66. I sent it off to a Mr. William Maertz, a man famous for his museum quality German helmet restorations.

The helmet was carefully disassembled, stripped and repainted in the correct WW2 German textured green. I believe the chinstrap may be original however I'm uncertain whether the liner is original or not.

The liner size is 58 and does appear to be aged with some minor cracking in the leather. I received the helmet with the liner and chinstrap as shown.

I rubbed a small amount of red carpenters chalk in the stamped area to highlight the markings. This wipes easily away with a damp cloth.

Lot number appears to be 5593 or 5595. Please study the photos and feel free to ask questions. This is a fantastic display piece and makes a great Christmas gift! I was asked if there was a dent on the front right side of the helmet.
