ORIGINAL WW2 GERMAN M35 ET66 NORMANDY SPRAY CAMO HELMET. (PLEASE CONTINUE TO SCROLL DOWN TO SEE ALL 15 DETAILED PHOTOS). This is one of the most realistic and historically accurate looking WW2 camo helmets I have ever seen. The inside of the helmet is completely original and untouched just as it would have left the factory in the early pre-war years when they were still using solid brass split pins and non-reinforced aluminum bale liner systems which occurred from the 1935-37 after which they began re-enforcing the aluminum liner bands from 1937-40. So the inside of this helmet i.

The liner system, brass split pins are all untouched, un-messed with and 100% original to the helmet. Another interesting note is that 1935 is the last year they were using rounded aluminum chinstrap bales switching to the more common aluminum square bale system from 1936-40. This is a large sized M35 ET66 in gothic script with a rear lot number of 1110 which is very very low and would firmly place the factory production date to 1935 which was the very first year the M35 helmet went into full scale production. The liner system has the embossed numbers 66/59 which they stopped doing in 1936 and was replaced instead with stamping ink numerals onto the end of one of the leather fingers. So we can truly date this helmet and liner system to the exact year of 1935.

The outside paint has been restored because the original outside paint was nearly completely gone except for a patina layer of thin original smooth factory paint. And so it was decided to give it a full outside restoration into an extremely accurate looking Normandy camo or southern Italian front camo which first started out as a base layer of factory paint followed by a first layer of a harvest tan beige followed by some crude spray stripes in dark green. The outside paint was then aged to an ultimate perfection and would fool most intermediate to advanced collectors in this authors humble opinion. The aging is completely random and natural looking with nice smooth dark brown rust suggesting 70+ of slow oxidization. Let the marketplace decide it true value.

Picking helmets and other German collectibles is just a hobby of mine and has nothing to do with my main business which is in home renovations. This is why I only ever care about what I paid for a helmet and not what some dealer would ask.
