WWII German fallschirmjäger m38 SD helmet with shrapnel damage ww2

Awesome battle field worn helmet in great displayable condition. Its a little rusty, more so on the inside and dry.

Leather is stiff and a little shrunken but still very pliable andwill not break or crack if one handles it properly. There is a tear in the lining towards the front, looks like long ago. It looks like it had a tan camo over spray that has worn and chipped away through hard use. It has avery nice luft eagle on the left side. Please ask for any additional pictures and please be specific. Supposedly, according to the man i bought this from, it was a GI bring back from itally and then sat in a VFW hall for 40 years, according to the previous owner, all the info on who it was brought back by and when and where was written on a tag that was ripped off and sice disappeared. A piece of the tag os still looped through a chinstrap hole but dosnt have any readable info on it.
