This is a genuine WW2 German steel helmet model 1935. It retains its original liner and pins and has clearly not been removed. It is missing part of the long section of the chinstrap but otherwise, its all complete. It has had a later war paint applied, circa 1944, to aid in better camouflage and retains around 95% of this paint finish.
Whether or not the original double decals are underneath, I cant tell and will not start scratching it to check. The leather liner is complete and just slightly dry. It is size stamped 55. Maker stamped ET 62 and the batch number looks to be 1455? Overall a nice, used wartime example of this earlier model helmet.
