It dates to at least WW1 and maybe earlier. Ive searched the net and I have seen several that somewhat resemble this one but none are exact. It may be a rare helmet.
Paint is near perfect with just a spot or two chipped off. Leather is complete pliable but does have some tears and needs conditioning.
Chinstrap is also present with one buckle. Maker marked on inside brim C.
This was "liberated" from a fire house in, I think it was Bitburg during WW2. The soldier (I have his name if you care to research him) was in the Battle of the Bulge and was a medic. Later on, he came apon this firehouse, went in and found these treasures.
