I have had this shell in my collection since the mid 1970's. I bought this from the guy who pulled it out of a yard sale and I have done nothing to it since I've owned it. It's for sale now because I'm thinning my collection out a bit. I'm a proud member of the Wehrmacht-Awards Forum and this helmet was posted for opinions on 11-08-2009 with positive comments.
As said, it's a helmet shell only, no liner, named to someone called "Flunger" (I think). Markings on the inside are photographed but hard for my old eyes to read. Colors are yellow green maroon or brown. Application of some paint was mixed with sand giving it a rough finish in those areas. No damage, cracks or rust. I can see no evidence of decals being present. The item "WW2 German Helmet Shell, M40, Camo Camoflage, Named" is in sale since Wednesday, March 01, 2017.
