WW2 German LKpW101 Fliegerkopfhaube Winter Flight Helmet #2 W/ Throat Mics & Tag. During WW2, the Germans produced about 10 variations of flight helmets for various operational conditions, as well as with or without radio communication equipment. This specific helmet was designed with radio equipment for fighter and bomber pilots. It was similar to the earlier model used in the early months of the Battle of Britain (LWpW100), however with updated features. Made of leather with a fleece lining, this helmet is in EXCELLENT used condition. There are no rips or tears, and the leather is still very soft and supple. All snaps, tabs, and buckles work correctly, and retain their original paint. The headphones, throat mics and plug are 100% intact.

The wiring outer rubber is brittle in places & cracking/broken from age (see pictures). It can be fixed with liquid electrical tape. All straps are fully adjustable.

The data label is still intact indicating: LKpW101, Ln. Some slight corrosion on some of the metal fittings, however this is normal for the age. The cellophane covers for the ear phones are also still fully intact, and show no cracking! This is a smaller size, but I have no way of saying what size it is.

As it was used in combat, and as such, features some slight stains, wear, and marks along the throat mic straps and ear phones. A FANTASTIC WW2 example that is PERFECT for any collection or display!
