WW2 German M40 Helmet Barnfound Holland battlefield Wehrmacht netting camouflage

For sale 1 of 2 German helmets found in the SAME BARN IN HOLLAND!! Both helmets where discovered on a hay attic on a local farm near Ravenstein in the vicinity of Nijmegen (Operation Market Garden) See other listing for helmet nr 2. This is a M42 Wehrmacht or Waffen SS helmet Helmet is completely untouched and apart from some mice bites in super nice condition. This should be kept in its original condition. Helmets like these are very difficult to find. Of course i realize, netted helmets are hard to judge on photos... Fully agree, but this is as found condition and never touched!! The liner is complete, but has its original drawstring and partly chinstrap. The leather is brittle but origial.

Some mice took small bits out of it soo it seems. The liner is of course original to the helmet and like stated before untouched.

It is well known that all kinds of materials where used to form camouflage on helmets and vehicles. Both Germans as Allied troops used materials that where available at the time. This type of netting is typical British and like stated above, 100% original to this helmet from that time. Left as found, found as is.
