WW2 German Normandy Camo Helmet Barn Find- Could be real or fake

The liner and Chinstrap have signs of being a KIA helmet from the way the strap was cut, and how stiff the liner has gotten. I have had several people who know what there doing look this over, and have given the thumps up. The vets family told me he was at Normandy, and picked it up a few days after D-Day, and it has been sitting in the barn ever since. Helmet is a size 64, and the camo is very vibrant.

The interior of this helmet is lined with a leather lace up fitting. The helmet fastens with a leather chinstrap. The chin strap shows signs of age. The helmet shows small signs of the rust around the brim/seams. This helmet could be real or fake. Please see photos for further details. THIS LISTING PRICE IS PER UNIT.
