He spent 5 plus years fighting in Europe from the age of 17 with the Canadian army. I seemed to recall that my father said the helmet came from a motorcycle soldier by way of piano wire across the road.
This helmet is in what I have seen from the helmets on the market in great shape... The liner is intact and soft. The chin strap is intact.. I dont know if the other side is missing a part of the buckle or not.... The stamp on the back from what I can see is marked "hKD6". The leather chin strap has a "1941" impressed on it. The steel batch quality is "5588". From my research it is a "M42".The goggles are included in the sale.. They look like the foam or coating had melted... You decide from the pictures... But unfortunately I took the goggles off the helmet only to find the resin of sorts had stuck to the helmets outer surface and rivets... I used a solvent to remove the white resin and it took off the paint on the rivets...
They are original like all the WWII German military stuff I will post. For 4 hours per tooth.
