Clearing out cellar and found this. I remember it being around, but I don't. I just know the basic things when it comes to militaria. My father was in the war.
But I really can't say where it came from. I will give you the best description that I can. It looks to be a ww2 original m42 german helmet, painted olive green? It has a pretty worn liner with the numbers 59 and some unreadable numbers stamped.Inside, and 1943 which I believe was the year it was made. On the inside rear of the helmet it is marked - hkp 64 and 16533. You should be able to see all that from the photos, so please look at.
I also weighed the helmet, it is 3.5 lbs. The helmet itself looks in pretty good condition, no rust, holes or cracks. Thanks for checking it out, and feel free to contact me with any.
