WW 2 German Luftwaffe Single Decal Combat Helmet Vet Bring Back

This helmet was obtained from a 93 year old WW2 vet that recently passed away at his estate sale his son said that he made the Normandy invasion and had quite a lot of German war souvenirs this being one of them. This helmet is truly a vet bring back and harder to find in this age after 70 years. The helmet is a summer of 1942 style with no rollback to the edges hence m-42. It is a Luftwaffe combat helmet as evidenced by the second pattern Luftwaffe eagle which is correct for this helmet. I would rate the decal as fair 35-59% intact.

There is no evidence of the national decal on the other side. The paint which is original is in the rough texture blue grey type and is in very good condition with 75-89% intact paint by my estimation. The liner is in excellent shape with even wearing the leather is light in color with all fingers present and the. The leather is not rotting and is not Stiff it is very supple and is marked.

Round circle 55 for the size in cm. The chin strap is missing. The stampings on the helmet are as follows # 1423. ET 62 on the ear side which means this helmet was made by eisen- und huttenwerke , AG. And 62 for the metric shell size.

There is also a stamping it looks in ink on the middle of the inside of the helmet it is very dark and I can't make it out but tried to show it in the photography. This helmet was in the vets family since 1945 and has not been monkeyed with in any manner.
