WWII German fallschirmjäger m38 helmet with shrapnel damage ww2

From a small luftwaffe collection i bought a month ago. The previous owner said he had gotten it from a defunct VFW hall where it sat for 40 or so years after being brought back from Italy. All the vet info and when and where it was taken from was on a paper tag that got torn off and lost before i ever got it. A piece of the tag is still there.

The helmet itself looks like it had a tan over spray that has worn away showing a lot of bare metal. The leather is still in good but stiff condition with a decent tear to one of the holes. The chinstrap has a couple small period repairs.

The inside of the shell is pretty rusty and i can barely make out a 3857 batch number but not much else. PLEASE ASK FOR MORE PICTURES, i wasnt able to do justice with only 12.
